About the course

This course is a 10 month course leading to PGCE (60 Masters credits), which includes KS5 and QTS. The course runs in Colchester and the surrounding area. Trainees have a mentor throughout the course and are very well supported in a long established training programme.

Interview process

The interviews will involve a presentation, interview, subject based written task and numeracy task and completion of a subject audit.

How school placements work

There are two school placements throughout the year to enable trainees to access a range of schools and courses. Visits to special schools and primary schools are also included. Longer placements in special schools may be possible. NETT arranges placements in most cases although applicants can also do this.

Fees

The course fees for 2019/2020 are as follows:
Student type Fees to pay
UK students £8,900
EU students £8,900

Financial support

You’ll get a bursary of £9,000 if you have a degree of 2:2 or above in any subject.

You don’t have to apply for a bursary - you’ll automatically start receiving it once you begin your course. Find out how you’ll be paid.

Financial support if you’re from outside the UK.

Requirements

Qualifications

Applicants require a GCSE grade 4/C or appropriate equivalence in English and Maths. A degree is also required. It is expected that an applicant's degree will be related to the subject they wish to teach, although often we can train with a good A level and a SKE course. Please ask.

About the training provider

NETT are a small supportive ITT provider with excellent outcomes and an outstanding employment record. We offer a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, from the University of Suffolk, with QTS. The PGCE carries 60 Master's credits. We offer courses at both primary and secondary level (11-16 years with post 16 enhancement).

Our full time course runs from September to June / July. All trainees have experience in two mainstream schools, covering at least two key stages. There is also the opportunity to train in a Special school and a 6th form college. Most schools are located in the North Essex area.
