About the training provider
With Burnt Mill Academy graded as Outstanding by Ofsted, BMAT is a designated teaching school. The Teaching School works with the West Essex Teaching School Alliance
The school has three elements it works on – Initial Teacher Training, Continued Professional Leadership and Development and School to School support – as required by the Department for Education.
Donna Walsh, Director of BMAT Teaching School, says: “Teaching school status gives Outstanding schools a leading role in the training and professional development of teachers, support staff and headteachers, as well as contributing to the raising of standards through school to school support”. “Of the 800 teaching schools in the UK, the BMAT Teaching School is the only one in Harlow.” We are excited about the future of teacher training at BMAT!
A successful applicant would train in any of our partnership schools dependent on the school’s recruitment priority. Allocation of places will reflect proximity, preference and a balance of places across the partner schools. Our schools are located in Essex (Harlow, Epping and Stansted Mountfitchet) and in London (Custom House, Newham)
