St Polycarp's CTSA will take the lead in interviewing once we have received your application through UCAS. Successful applicants will be invited to interviews held in collaboration between the school and university.
How school placements work
School placements are organised by St Polycarp's CTSA drawing on the talented and nurturing staff within the schools in our alliance. We are proud of our child centered approach to learning and our supportive ethos and from the moment you join this course you become part of our team.
You will be placed in a minimum of two schools listed below with the flexibility to ensure your placements reflect your needs and interests e.g. SEND placement. Your supporting mentors will be trained to guide you through this learning journey and work alongside you to enhance your educational understanding and classroom practice.
The St Polycarp's CTSA is a group of 25 good or outstanding schools based across Surrey and Hampshire, within the Diocese of Brighton and Arundel, who work together collaboratively to push the highest educational standards across the local area.

The course fees for 2019/2020 are as follows:
Primary SD Tuition Fee:
• GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including
mathematics, English and science
• degree classification of 2.2 or above
• a preferred two weeks experience in the relevant (desirable)
Key Stage classroom environment
• evidence at application of the ability to
demonstrate a high standard of written English
• successful completion of skills tests
in mathematics and English
• health and physical capacity to teach 5
• an acceptable Disclosure and Barring Service
(DBS) 6 and DBS by association.

About the training provider
Welcome to the St Polycarp’s Catholic Teaching School Alliance, a unique and nurturing alliance of schools whose aim is to support aspiring teachers into the rewarding career of teaching.
We are very proud that St Polycarp’s is currently one of only two Catholic primary teaching schools in the diocese of Arundel and Brighton with a range of inspiring and committed teachers within our schools, many of whom are leaders in their subject areas. Once you start your journey you will become part of this experienced, motivated team, working together in a friendly environment to make you feel supported every step of the way.

Training with disabilities and other needs
Both ITT providers and the St Polycarp's CTSA support all candidates with a willingness to learn and support the needs of children. The courses are personalised in approach and able to provide the reasonable adjustments required for candidates with disabilities and other needs. Both Reading university and St Mary's have well resourced student services with the knowledge and support required to assist any candidates who may require additional help.
