How school placements work
The School Direct route offers trainees an extended Professional Practice placement in one main school (called a “Base School”), supplemented by an additional placement (half a term) in a contrasting school.
This ensures a varied and balanced experience of teaching in different settings, whilst allowing you to contribute significantly to the life of your Base School.
The course fees for 2020/2021 are as follows:
Eligible UK and EU students can apply for a tuition fee loan to cover the cost of tuition fees from the government which you repay gradually through small monthly repayments.
*Minimum 2.2 degree or above
*GCSE Level 4 (Grade C) or above in English and Maths
Ideally you'll have studied Sports Science or a related discipline.
If you have a good A-Level in this subject, you may still be considered by completing a Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) programme. Make sure you mention you would be willing to do this in your UCAS application.
We are looking for inspiring, knowledgeable and ambitious trainee teachers who are passionate and enthusiastic about their school phase and/or subject specialism and have a desire to share this and make a real difference to young people's lives and futures.
*Satisfactory clearance from the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service)
