QTS
QTS (qualified teacher status) allows you to teach in state schools in England.
It may also allow you to teach in the EU, the EEA and Switzerland. You should check with the institution you’d like to teach in for confirmation. The status of QTS in these countries may change after the UK leaves the EU. Please check GOV.UK for updates.
To teach in the rest of the UK or internationally, you may wish to consider a ‘PGCE (or PGDE) with QTS’ qualification instead.

Interview process
For candidates who pass the shortlisting process and are invited to interview:
Pre-Interview Tasks include:

Following this, candidates will be interviewed by a panel, including a member of SLT from their chosen school and a representative from CCCU.
How school placements work
Successful applicants will have two placements – one in their base school, which will be an SEN setting, and another 30-day contrasting placement in a mainstream school.
There may also options for trainee teachers to visit an additional placement. This is reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
CLASS is an alliance of 24 Special Schools. The average distance between home and school is roughly 20 miles, but this will vary depending on which school you select.
