About the training provider

Our qualification provides intensive training leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for primary schools (5-11 year olds). The course is a blend of school based placements, high quality university input, close attention to individual needs and a genuine sense of partnership between our schools and Staffordshire University. Trainees within our partnership will be given placement opportunities in supportive, forward-thinking primary schools which all have strong links. The lead school, Oakridge, is rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. Intensive support will be given throughout the programme from experienced teachers and mentors. As a result, all trainees emerge from our teacher training programme as good or better teachers. Employment rates are high with 100% of trainees gaining offers of employment, many of which were from placement schools within our cluster.

About the accredited body

Staffordshire University achieved Ofsted 'Good' rating across all phases of Initial Teacher Training in 2016.

Training with disabilities and other needs

Our schools acknowledge reasonable adjustments for trainee teachers with disabilities and other needs to promote equality of opportunity for all.
