You could be eligible for either:
- a scholarship of £28,000
- a bursary of £26,000
To qualify for a scholarship you’ll need a degree of 2:1 or above in French or a related subject. For a bursary you’ll need a 2:2 or above in any subject.
You can’t claim both a bursary and a scholarship - you can only claim one.

Shirebrook Academy has a state-of-the art building and additional training facilities used specifically for teacher training.
We have been a School Direct teacher training provider for seven years and offer both Secondary and Primary programmes. 97% of our trainees have gained employment within our partner schools.
We work with our local Primary and Secondary partner schools, to provide quality teacher training provision that meets the needs of individual trainees as well as the whole cohort.
Every trainee has a University trained Mentor and an additional Mentor who is highly experienced in teacher training and learning and teaching to offer additional support and training.

Training with disabilities and other needs
Shirebrook Academy aims to meet the needs of all trainees. We are applying to be a Dyslexia Friendly school. We ensure trainees who are Dyslexic have additional time for assessments and all trainees are provided with a laptop.
Our school has disabled toilets and is an accessible site-we have a lift in the building which covers all three floors of the school.
We work closely with all trainees and our staff to ensure wellbeing is a key priority and several members of staff are trained in mental health.
We work closely with Universities to monitor our trainees and ensure all needs are met.
