PGCE with QTS
A postgraduate certificate in education (PGCE) with qualified teacher status (QTS) allows you to teach in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It’s also recognised internationally.
Many PGCE courses include credits that count toward a Master’s degree.

About the course
This School Direct course is run alongside the University of Sussex. You will spend Monday to Thursday in school and Fridays at the Falmer campus.
How school placements work
You will be based in school all year (until the end of May) except for term 4 when you will be on your complementary placement nearby.
You will allocated a subject Mentor and Professional Tutor in school who will support you during your placement.
The course includes working with a form tutor and attending meetings as per the school diary.
Salary
This will be calculated using the unqualified teachers pay scales and the confirmed amount you will receive will be relayed to you in advance.
Financial support
Financial support isn’t available for this course because it comes with a salary.

Qualifications
A degree in a relevant subject area. GCSE Maths and English of at least a C grade. Science is also required for primary teaching.

Rother Teaching School Alliance is a group of primary and secondary schools in East Sussex with the schools in the areas of Bexhill,Robertsbridge, Battle and Hastings.
The Lead school for the alliance is St Richard's Catholic College which is a high performing secondary school.
We are highly experienced at training and supporting many outstanding trainees across a range of subjects and key stages.

Across the alliance, we are able to accommodate trainees with a range of disabilities or needs. Well being activities support trainee mental health and support is offered to individuals who require it.
