About the training provider

Who are we?

Haberdashers' Aske's Hatcham College is part of the Haberdashers' Aske's Federation, a family of 6 primary schools and 3 secondary schools that have been educating young people in this part of London since 1876. We have a further 13 schools in Atlas, our growing Teaching School Alliance, currently serving Lewisham and Bexley. Each of our diverse schools is at the heart of their community. They collaborate closely to realise our vision that by the time young people leave us they will have experienced a whole range of opportunities that not only build their mind but also build their character.

Why train with us?

Our programme is characterised by a combined focus on skills, knowledge and the insights offered by educational research into the most effective pedagogical approaches and our experience of developing teachers and leaders for over 20 years. This is enhanced by unique experiences gained in the diverse school settings within our Alliance. Our trainees can spend time in a PRU, special and grammar school in addition to their two placements. From day one they are given the opportunity to make a difference to our students and the support and guidance to flourish into an effective teacher and future leader if that is their ambition.

In addition to in school mentors our trainees benefit from bespoke coaching from our Teaching School subject & CPD leads.

100% of our trainees would recommend us to other ITE applicants and many of them secure permanent positions in our schools.
