QTS
QTS (qualified teacher status) allows you to teach in state schools in England.
It may also allow you to teach in the EU, the EEA and Switzerland. You should check with the institution you’d like to teach in for confirmation. The status of QTS in these countries may change after the UK leaves the EU. Please check GOV.UK for updates.
To teach in the rest of the UK or internationally, you may wish to consider a ‘PGCE (or PGDE) with QTS’ qualification instead.

About the course
Trainees will spend each day in school during term time with Wednesday afternoon at Bromley Schools' Collegiate where training takes place.
Bromley Schools' Collegiate is a well established training provider with 25 years of experience. awarded ‘outstanding’ status by Ofsted in November 2015, which recognises teacher training of the highest quality. Our training programme will prepare you for your NQT year and beyond in to a career in teaching. Facilitators deliver weekly training mostly at the provider's training centre in Chislehurst. Trainees experience two school experiences at placements in the borough of Bromley. Each trainee has a dedicated subject mentor and Senior Mentor who will observe and assess the trainee regularly. Trainees upload supporting evidence to the bespoke on line system showing their knowledge and understanding of the Teachers Standards. The PGCE element is delivered by Lecturers who join trainees at the BSC training centre and offer support towards the level 7 qualification. PGCE is included in the tuition fee for School Direct training. Those following the School direct salaried programme will be working towards QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
Trainees are assessed by formal observations while teaching. Also they must provide evidence of knowledge and understanding of the Teachers's Standards by way of uploading evidence to the on line learning environment.
Assignments and schemes of work are required for QTS only pathway (School direct salaried trainees).

How school placements work
Much consideration is given to placements. Each trainee must undertake 2 school placements to gain contrasting experience of teaching.
Trainees on the School Direct training programme where tuition fee is paid, will be in one school in the first term and a contrasting school in placement 2 from January to July.
School Direct Salaried trainees are employed by the school, their second school experience takes place in in the Spring term for half a term.
All placements are arranged by Bromley Schools' Collegiate following discussions with mentors and senior mentors who have been working with you.
