A postgraduate certificate in education (PGCE) with qualified teacher status (QTS) allows you to teach in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It’s also recognised internationally.

After successfully completing your training, you will be awarded a PGCE with QTS and the possibility of taking up a teaching post within our alliance of schools. Our HEART teachers become part of a network where Continuing Professional Development & Formation matters.

What is the Sacred Heart Alliance?

A partnership of schools, mainly from Bolton and the surrounding areas. Working in partnership with the University of Cumbria, we offer an innovative and supportive programme of training. This includes placements in three excellent yet contrasting schools.

Sacred Heart is an outstanding school where every child is unique and all children make excellent progress. We are experienced in Co-ordinating and providing high quality school-led initial teacher training (ITT), HEART have been leading school direct PGCE provision, in partnership with University of Cumbria, since September 2014.

We have worked with University of Cumbria and their excellent team of committed staff for over 4 years to deliver our Primary based PGCE/Schools Direct courses .
